Are pets allowed in the National Park?Generally speaking, no. Pets are not allowed in most areas of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. While there are some specific trails inside the park where pets are allowed, pets are restricted on most trails and attractions. This rule is mostly in place to keep pets away from the abundant wildlife inside the park. For more information about where inside the park your pet would be welcome, we recommend checking in at the main Visitor Center just inside the park accessed through the Cherokee park entrance.
-
Can I leave my pet in the Longhouse while I'm out?No. Pets may not be left unattended inside the Longhouse unless you are using a kennel. We offer traditional spa services at Long View Resort, but they are delivered while completely immersed in the natural surroundings. Our focus is on deep relaxation and connecting to the natural outdoor elements around you to aid in your spa experience here, and our spa areas are situated in the open air with expansive views of the Smoky Mountains. What types of services are available at the spa?The spa service that draws the most attention at Long View Resort is our traditional Scandinavian wood-fired soaker tubs. These tubs are lovingly fired each day by heating a fully immersed rocket stove with hardwood firewood. This process takes about two to four hours depending on the outside temperature and requires no harsh chemicals or electricity to operate. The process of preparing these tubs for users is almost ritualistic, and it invites you to slow down, practice mindfulness and to truly connect to your surroundings. There are three levels of soak experiences our guests can choose from to tailor the experience to their individual needs and budgets. Therapeutic massage is also a very popular spa option for our guests. Our licensed therapists will work with you to deliver the massage that best suits your needs for healing and relaxation. While these massages can occur in-room, we highly recommend enjoying them on our outside treatment areas to add sound and feel of the mountain that surrounds you. Massages are available for single person 60 and 90 minute sessions and also couples massages an hour in duration. We are happy to announce that coming in April 2025 the addition of our outdoor spa pavilion which will add many more services for our guests to enjoy. Planned among these services are hot/cold sauna and cold plunge sessions, full facial and lymphatic release sessions, Opus sound bed experiences, grounded sun therapy and guided forest therapy sessions.

What happens if weather affects my planned spa service?Since our services are largely preformed outside, weather can play a factor in their delivery. Most of our services can be transferred in-room, but if weather outside doesn't cooperate, spa services are fully refundable. Keep in mind for full cash refunds on spa services, our staff must deem the weather too severe to complete the service. If our team can safely and comfortably deliver services as planned and the guest decides they do not wish to keep them, credits for monies paid will be issued to that guest and can be used for future stays and/or services without penalty.

What's the difference between a micro-wedding and a weekend getaway wedding? No too much, really. Both are very intimate experiences. A micro-wedding just means your total guest list including your wedding party is under fifty people. A weekend getaway wedding is about the same size, but a big part of your wedding is more about spending quality time with your guests beyond the ceremony. Weekend getaway weddings often include your guests spending a night or two with you at your venue enjoying meals, memories, games, entertainment and more. Micro or weekend, Long View Resort is a perfect venue for your dream wedding.

However, spring can be an excellent choice as well for the same reason.
