We don’t specialize in weddings. Most wedding venues crank out multiple weddings in a single weekend. It’s what they do – all day, every day. And they’re very good at creating one thing – an event that looks pretty much like the last event that came through the place just hours earlier.
We don’t specialize in that. We specialize in something much more important. We specialize in crafting events that mean something to the people participating in them. We specialize in creating an intimate space for friends and family to truly bond when two families unite. We specialize in making sure the magic of your union is something that belongs to you and only you. We specialize in your wedding experience. And we’re very good at it.

One of the newest trends in the wedding world is a move away from the traditional "ceremony then reception then send off then everyone goes home" scenario. These days, couples are moving more to making their wedding ceremonies a fully immersed experience, where their closest guests join them for several days either prior to the exchanging of vows, a few after or even on both ends of the event. This way, everyone involved – especially the happy couple – have a real chance to savor their marriage ceremony and slow down and relax during a time that up until recently has been a single whirlwind day that no one really has a true chance to enjoy.
So, if the trend with weddings is to lengthen the ceremony and move away from the traditional, how do you find a venue that fits the bill? A simple search for “wedding venue” might not get you exactly what you’re after anymore. So, what do you do? Change your search from “wedding venue” to “weekend wedding” and let the fun begin! Go ahead, give it a try…. we’ll wait.

See? We told you it was trending. There are many options out there for weekend weddings, and all of them will serve up their unique flavor. That’s good and bad news because you’ll have choices but you’ll also have choices. How do you know which venues are a best fit for your event? Here’s a few tips to consider that might help:
1. Decide On A Budget – this is a no-brainer of course, but if you’re planning on moving toward a weekend wedding, you’ll want to have a good idea of what you’re willing to spend. Weekend weddings don’t automatically have to be more expensive, but sometimes their package pricing can seem initially high. But once you start digging into what’s actually included in those prices, you’re likely to find they bring much higher value for similar prices to a normal wedding venue.
2. Pair Down Your Guest List – one of the biggest ways to ensure that you have a meaningful weekend wedding to take a serious look at your guest list. Rather than inviting everyone you can think of to your event, keep in mind that weekend weddings are much more successful if you invite only those people who are the most important in you and your partner’s lives. In general, weekend weddings have somewhere between 25-50 total in attendance, including the wedding party.
3. Look Carefully At What’s Included In Weekend Wedding Packages – while venues that can offer lodging for your weekend wedding are a great choice for wedding do-it-yourselfers, if you’re looking for the venue to provide more than a place for your guests to sleep, make sure you read the fine print. If there are multiple packages, don’t dismiss them casually based solely on price. Sometimes the higher package price can save you money on outside vendors.
4. Really Consider The Location – when you’re inviting your guests to spend a few days with you for your wedding, be sure to consider the area surrounding where the venue is located. Does the area offer access to necessities that your guests might need like restaurants, hospitals or shopping? Are there fun local attractions that guests can enjoy during their downtime at your wedding? Is it easy to travel to and from the venue? Far-away castles look dreamy online, but if there’s nothing else to do or it isn’t easy to pick up a forgotten item you need for the ceremony, that can be a problem. It’s a good idea to give your prospective venue choice a call to be sure that the location is truly suitable for your weekend wedding.
5. Choose A Memorable Activity And Ask If The Venue Can Accommodate It – of course your ceremony will be filled with all the normal things that make a wedding day magical, but since you will have more time to really connect with your guests why not do something really special? We’ve seen it all – from a mini-Olympic games to intense yard Jenga competitions to full spa days complete with pre-wedding brunch, and you’ll likely find that most weekend wedding venues are eager to go the extra mile to make your event special.
